Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director of the NDDC, highlighted that the Youth Internship Scheme, launched on August 5, 2024, has generated significant interest, attracting over three million applications. The selected 10,000 beneficiaries are eagerly anticipating the release of the list and the commencement of the training program.

Dr. Ogbuku expressed gratitude to the University of Ibadan for recognizing the NDDC’s achievements. He believes that this honor signifies growing public appreciation for the Commission’s efforts. To further demonstrate its progress, the NDDC plans to inaugurate a series of completed projects in the first week of December.

Ogbuku also mentioned that a recent review of the NDDC’s corporate governance system by KPMG, a renowned global consultancy firm, has been completed. This review aims to enhance the Commission’s internal processes and institutional protocols.

Professor Kayode Adebowale, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, commended Dr. Samuel Ogbuku for the significant strides made by the NDDC under his leadership.

Adebowale explained that the university’s decision to honor Dr. Ogbuku was based on his remarkable contributions to society. As the University of Ibadan celebrated its 75th anniversary, it recognized Dr. Ogbuku as a worthy recipient of this honor.
