Call for Applications The Commonwealth Foundation’s 2024-2025 grants: Get up to £30,000

The Commonwealth Foundation is now accepting applications for grants of up to £30,000 to support civil society projects across the Commonwealth.

What Kind of Projects Are Funded?

The Foundation is interested in projects that encourage collaboration between civil society organizations and government officials, especially when it comes to policy creation and implementation.

Successful projects should focus on one or more of these key areas:

  • Health and Justice: Improving healthcare access and promoting fair legal systems.
  • Freedom of Expression: Protecting freedom of speech and ensuring open dialogue.
  • Climate Justice: Addressing climate change and promoting sustainable practices.

Who Can Apply for this Grant?

The Commonwealth Foundation is looking for non-profit civil society organizations (CSOs) located in Commonwealth countries. These organizations must have been active for at least three years and have a proven track record in working with communities and advocating for change.

To apply for the grant, you will need to do these:

  • Check Your Eligibility: Take a short quiz to see if your organization meets the requirements.
  • Get the Guidelines: Download the necessary documents from the Commonwealth Foundation’s website.

The application deadline for the 2024 grants is October 24, 2024.

Important Note: Applicants are encouraged to explore the intersections between the Foundation’s three themes and integrate gender considerations into project design.

If your project is selected, you may request additional funding (up to 5% of the total grant amount) to help your organization improve its skills and capabilities.

This grant is not for these

  • Academic Activities: Research studies, training programs, or exchanges between developed countries.
  • Service Projects: Building or installing facilities.
  • Government or Private Sector Training: Capacity-building programs solely for government officials or businesses.
