Seplat Energy Plc has announced the exchange rate to be used for the Naira payment of its third-quarter 2024 interim dividend. Shareholders who opt for Naira payments will receive their dividends at a rate of 1,681.42 Nigerian Naira to 1 US dollar.
This exchange rate, which reflects the NAFEX closing rate as of November 11, 2024, was disclosed in a regulatory filing on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).
The statement read “Seplat Energy PLC (‘Seplat’ or the ‘Company’), a leading Nigerian independent energy company listed on both the Nigerian Exchange Limited and London Stock Exchange, today confirms that the below currency exchange rate is applicable in determining Q3 2024 interim dividend to shareholders that will receive the dividend payment in Naira (NGN).”
As a reminder, Seplat Energy declared an interim dividend of 3.6 US cents per share on October 29, 2024. Dividend payments will be made to shareholders on record as of November 12, 2024.
Shareholders can choose to receive their dividend payments in either Naira or US dollars, subject to specific eligibility criteria. Shareholders holding shares on the NGX without a valid Nigerian Certificate of Capital Importation (CCI) will receive their payments in Naira.
Conversely, shareholders on the NGX with a valid CCI and those holding depository interests on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) will receive their payments in US dollars.
